Ohio Golf Journal 2018 Winter Travel Issue

Over the past 25 years, Alabama has become much more than simply a “drive-thru-state” for snow birds from Michigan and Ohio heading to Florida for sun and fun. With the addition of the Robert Trent Golf Trail, Alabama has become a golf destination in its own right. In 2017, The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail celebrated its 25 th Anniversary providing the very best courses and accommodations for golfers. The first seven locations opened for play in 1992. Three more locations opened over the years and one site was purchased, bringing the total to 11 facilities offering a total of 468 holes, on 26 courses. From the most northern locations, The Shoals and Hampton Cove, the trail stretches over 300 miles to the extreme southern tip of the state, with two facilities on either side of Mobile Bay, Lakewood and Magnolia Grove. Every stop on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail offers multiple courses and a variety of tee boxes make exploring each of the 468 golf holes a true pleasure.
