Speaking of Great Britain, our globe-trotting travel writer, Mike -AY MADE A GOLÚNG PILGRIMAGE to the county of Kent in England and submitted a wonderful article that will make our readers want to grab their passports to head to the southeast of England. One of Ohio’s own, the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus received another big award last month. The guy, who was seen as a threat to the King in his younger days, has become one of the most recognized and beloved golfers of all time. In addition, he and his wife, Barbara continue to raise millions of dollars for children’s charities. Another great Ohio Amateur golfer, Bob Lewis was inducted into the National Amateur Hall of Fame last month. Lewis has spent his life competing in amateur golf events and succeeding at the highest levels. EdTravis writes about the European Tour’s Shot Clock Masters. Professional golfers were put on a time clock for every shot. The results were surprising, and scoring did not suffer from faster play. Here in Ohio, tournaments are being conducted at every level, Men, Women and Juniors, to identify the best in their class in the state. Find the results inside this issue. Ohio State Senior Will Grimmer made a splash at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock and OSU also named longtime Women’s Head Coach Therese Hession, Director of Golf for both the men’s and women’s programs.
