It’s Spring in Ohio

The Indians and Reds have started the MLB season. The Masters has awarded another Green Jacket and the birds are chirping outside my office window. Golf courses across the state are welcoming anxious golfers and getting the 2018 golf season underway.

If you are tired of simply taking a few bucks from your golf buddies every week and are looking for a more structured means to test your ability. We have supplied the tournament schedules for the Ohio, Toledo, Miami Valley, Northern Ohio and USGA events.

Join an association and get out there and play golf competitively.

Caddies historically have been an important facet of golf. Two organizations are trying to revive the caddie tradition. The Western Golf Association already promotes caddies through the Evans Scholars Foundation and have begun a new caddie initiative called, Carry the Game to provide caddies at even more courses.

Another group, CaddieNow has built an APP for Caddies and Golfers to promote the use of caddies. Think of it as an Uber for your golf bag.

Ed Travis, contrary to the USGA’s assessment, is not convinced a shorter golf ball is necessary and provides the Facts about the current state of the golf ball dilemma.

Slow play has been a problem for golfers, since the game began. We offer a few tips to speed up play at your course.

I have had the opportunity to talk with several golf course owners and operators over the past few weeks and each one advised that their biggest challenge was finding additional help for the summer months.

Golf courses offer a perfect summer job for teenagers, as well as, retired people, who want to be around the game.

Give your child a valuable experience and help them make a few bucks, or if you have an old retired guy creating a lump on your couch, contact a golf course near you and put them to work.
