FALL 2018 OHIO COLLEGE PREVIEW It’s October and the Fall College Golf season is in full swing. Here is a quick preview of Ohio’s major college golf teams. Ohio State University Men Current Head Coach, Jay Moseley has four seniors returning from last year’s squad. Three of those, Will Grimmer, Caleb Ramirez and Daniel Wetterich were named Big Ten Preseason Honorees. Grimmer made headlines over the summer by making the cut at the U.S. Open at Shinnecock and both he and Ramirezmade it to the match play portion of the U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach. They opened their Fall season WITH A FOURTH PLACE ÚNISH AT THE Northern Intercollegiate at Rich Harvest Farms. They split the squad to compete in both the Bearcat Invitational, eventually canceled due to excessive rain, AND ÚNISHED WELL DOWN THE ÚELD IN THE )NVERNESS Intercollegiate. The teamwill enter theNike Collegiate, Gordin Collegiate, Jack Nicklaus Invitational, and Xavier Muskies Invitational before the Fall season ends. All three earned Big Ten pre-season honors and had productive summer golf seasons. 3HEARS AND ,EE BOTH QUALIÚED for the match play portion of the U.S Women’s Amateur. Shears grabbed the 64 th seed and Leewas THE FOURTH SEED AFTER THE ÚRST TWO rounds of stroke play. Lee made IT ALL THE WAY TO THE QUARTERÚNALS before she was defeated. The women began their Fall SEASON WITH A THIRD PLACE ÚNISH at the East & West Match Play Challenge at Radrick Farms Golf Course in Ann Arbor.
