Although Tropical Storm Florence dumped over eight inches of rain on Charlotte, North Carolina, the grounds- keeping crews at both Charlotte Country Club and Carolina Golf Club had the host courses ready for play in the 38th U.S. Mid-Am Championship. Qualifying out of Dublin’s Tartan Fields, Aaron Siekmann, from Powell ÚRED A TO TAKE MEDALIST HONORS 4ONY (EINA from Cleveland and Nick Reardon both carded 72 to tie for runner-up and Robert Davidge from #OLUMBUS WAS THE FOURTH QUALIÚER FROM 4ARTAN Fields. In Medina at Weymouth Country Club, Chris Okeson carded a 69 to punch his ticket to the U.S. Mid-Am Championship, along with Akron’s Aaron Crewse and Josh Clay from North Canton. Both Reardon and Clay were knocked out in the Round of 64, but Anderson defeated Kenneth Cook from Indiana, 3-2 to advance, before losing in the second round to Kyler Sauer from California.
