Ohio Amateur A future OSU Buckeye golfer, Maxwell Moldovan won the 113th Ohio Amateur Championship at Moraine Country Club, in Dayton. Moldovan won by a single stroke over 36-year-old Scott Anderson, from Columbus, who was a quarterfinalist in the 2017 U.S. Mid-Amateur. Moldovan, from Uniontown, who will be a member of the OSU Buckeye squad this fall, emerged with a one-stroke victory over the Anderson, the former Ohio State golfer. Moldovan, the son of a golf professional, matched Anderson’s 2-under-par 69 in the final round to win the tournament with a 7-under par total of 277. He had scores of 68, 73, 67 and 69 and made a hole- in-one on Moraine’s fifth hole on Thursday.
