The Ohio Senior Amateur The2019OhioGolfAssociationOhioSeniorAmateurChampionship is a multi-day tournament held at Elyria Country Club. Registration is open until August 6, 2019 at 11:59 pm. Application for this event must be submitted online, delivered in person, or sent through the US Postal Service. No fax, e-mail, or phone entries will be accepted. Patty Jacobsen Named Betty Kerby Peppard Award Winner The WOSGA annually recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to women’s amateur golf in the state of Ohio with the Betty Kerby Peppard Award. For her many years of service to several golf organizations and groups in the state, as well as, being a USGA Rules Official, Patty Jacobsen was honored with this award for 2019. Just a few of her past contributions include: • Served on the board of Cleveland Women’s Golf Association and as its President in 1998. • Served on the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation (OGGF). • Member of the Ohio Course Rating Team from 1990- 1999. • Won the Mary K. Browne Tournament at Kirtland Country Club, in 1998 • Member of the WOSGA Executive Committee and became a rules official for WOSGA in 2006. • Officiated at the NCAA Divisional III National Championship in 2001. • With the USGA, she conducted Women’s Mid Am Qualifiers in Ohio for 12 years including being the official-in-charge foe the Sectional LPGA Women’s Open Qualifier in 2003. • In total Patty was a USGA Rules official for, 15 US Women’s Opens, 13 USWomen’s Amateurs, 18Women’s Mid-Amateurs and one Men’s Senior Open. WOSGA Women’s Amateur Ali Green defeated Elizabeth Kim 3 & 2 to win the Women’s Ohio State Golf Association Amateur held at Piqua Country Club. Along the way, Green had to beat Annika Manjunath, Taby Robinson and Ashley Au to get into the championship match. In the Mid-Am division, it took Shirley Vaughn 19 holes to defeat Diane Rubin-Schuld.
