Ohio Juniors Win AJGA Titles Gianna Clemente of Warren and Joshua Qian of Westerville both won their divisions in the Coca Cola Junior Championship at Boyne Highlands. To win the Girls Division, Gianna fired a tournament total of 4-under-par 212 on the Moor Course at Boyne Highlands, making a total of 10 birdies. At just 12 years, 3 months and 9 days of age, she becomes the fifth youngest to become a Girls Division Champion in AJGA history. Gianna is a three-time U.S. Kids World Champion and is the third youngest to qualify for the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 2019. Joshua won the Boys Division in a one-hole playoff, when he also finished at 4-under-par 212. Pair of Ohio Natives on Symetra Tour Haylee Harford & Marissa Steen are Working to Make it to LPGA Tour. Marissa Steen grew up in West Chester, Ohio and played her high school golf for Lakota. She was a member of the Memphis Women’s Golf Team and turned professional in 2012. Finishing No. 1 on the Symetra Tour in 2014, she graduated to the LPGA, but injury prevented her from keeping her card. She has been trying to get back to the LPGA since. Haylee Harford is in her first year as a full time professional. She competed on the FurmanWomen’s Golf Team and was in the field for the final round in the first Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Haylee had an outstanding collegiate career and hopefully will find success in the professional ranks. With the Symetra tour back in action, both women will be looking to improve their status and make it back to the LPGA. Ohio Golf News During the event he carded three eagles and nine birdies.
