Golf Heritage Society is Preserving the History of Golf T he Golf Heritage Society was founded in 1970 as the Golf Collectors Society but has grown over the years and now includes tournament play, plus it is deeply involved in keeping the history of the game alive. Inaddition tohosting regional andnationalmeetings, they promote hickory tournaments, publish historical articles about courses, championships, as well as, equipment. They engage youth to preserve the history of the game and teach its life lessons. One of the main events every year for the Golf Heritage Society is their annual meeting. This year celebrates the 50th year for the organization and the annual meeting has been set for September 30-October 4, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Plans are currently being finalized and the exact details will be forthcoming in July. If you have any interest in hickory clubs, or the history of the game of golf, this is the place you want to be. The foremost authorities of golf history will be in attendance and answer any questions on the game.
