Interested players can set up a course near them to reflect the yardage and parameters of Oakhurst Links. Record their scores and submit them to the Golf Heritage Society for calculation and to determine a champion. In the past the National Hickory Championship has become a huge event with competitors not only competing in the event but swapping clubs and stories after their rounds. The U.S. Hickory Open is scheduled to be held September 12-14 at Happy Hollow Golf Club in Omaha, Nebraska. This is the 20th anniversary for the Society of Hickory Golfers and this is the signature competitive event for Hickory Golfers in the United States.
