Bob Sowards named PGA Senior Player Of The Year From NEOH Golf 2020 US Open qualifying Sites announced Three Ohio golf courses will host preliminary qualifiers for the 2020 U.S. Open to be held atWinged Foot Country Club June 18-21. The qualifiers will be held beginning April 27 and run through May 12 at 109 sites in 45 states and Canada. Those players who advance out of local qualifying will join a group of exempt players in 36-hole final qualifiers, which will be conducted at nine courses in the United States, one in England, one in Canada and one in Japan. The U.S, Canada and England sites will host their finals on Monday, June 8, with the Texas final to be played on May 18. Japan will host its final qualifier on May 25. It will mark the 16th consecutive year that England and Japan have hosted international final qualifying. Ohio Courses Hosting 18-Hole Qualifiers: Beechmont Country Club in Cleveland will host a qualifier, Tuesday, May 5th. On Monday, May 11th Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati will host a U.S. Open qualifier for the 44th time in the last 45 years. Also on the 11th, Kinsale Golf Club in Dublin will also host an 18-hole qualifier. Big Shots coming to Firestone 9 BigShots Golf, a tech‐driven golf entertainment venue in the vein of Topgolf and Drive Shack, is coming to Akron Ohio, replacing The Range at Firestone 9. After an extremely successful 2019 golf season, Kinsale Golf Club Head Professional, Bob Sowards was named PGA Senior Player of the Year. Sowards competed in several PGA event throughout the year and either won or finished top 10 in most of them. Sowards has won 10 PGA Tournament Series events in his career and is tied for fourth all-time in that competition.
