The ‘Mediocre Golf Tour’ Comes to Toledo ‘Playing Badly and Having Fun!’ If you are a hacker and proud of it, the Mediocre Golf Association (MGA) may be for you. This is a golf tour for the high handicapper, more into having a good time on and off the course. A scratch golfer in this league is someone, who has an itch, rather than an accomplished player. Last year the Toledo Chapter of the Mediocre Golf Association won the Regional Championship over seven other chapters. The Toledo MGA hosts eight events annually. The 2020 season will begin in April 5th with the ‘Rebel Beach Am-Am’ to be held at Giant Oak and concludes in October with the ‘Last Gasp Championship’ to be held October 4th at Riverby Hills. Just like the PGA Tour, the MGA Tour hosts four major championships, ‘The Bastards,’ ‘The MGA,’ ‘The F.U. Open’ and ‘The Bratish Open,’ with the names slightly altered from the traditional major tournaments. The winner of the ‘Bratish Open’ receives this beautifully designed and anatomically correct, Claret Juggs Trophy. Wouldn’t every wife be proud to display that on the mantle? Ohio Golf Journal
