Flowers are Blooming and Golf is in the Air! FRED ALTVATER You are a Golfaholic if: There are still snow banks on the golf course when you play your first round of the year. Don’t Play too much golf. Two rounds a day are plenty.......... The Masters returned to its rightful spot on the calendar in April. The flowers were as beautiful as ever and the competition never fails to keep us on the edge of our seats. A limited number of fans were allowed, but the roars didn’t quite reach the decibel ratings we are accustomed to. Mill Creek Golf Club in Boardman, Ohio has not one, but two outstanding Donald Ross designs. If you are looking for a wonderful golf destination within a short drive, Mill Creek should be on your must-play list. Bob McCall grew up in Ohio and beat Arnold Palmer, when they were young men, but he never had the desire to play professionally. He was as tremendous golfer, but a death of a child left a deep scar, which eventually led to the end of his life. He is one of the Best Golfers You Never Heard Of. Ohio lost two golf legends last month. Jerry McGee competed with the best players on the PGA Tour and Bob Lewis was one of the leading amateur golfers in the country. He captained the Walker Cup and coached his local high school squad to state championships. The college golf season was totally wiped out in 2020, but all Ohio university golf teams are back on course this spring. We give a brief preview for the top programs. Will it be a good business decision long term for the golf equipment manufacturer?
