The only true mystery to golf is the essential magnetism the game possesses.......... June will see the beginning of several professional tournaments in Ohio. With the easing of COVID regulations, fans will be able to attend sporting events and will be allowed to see golf’s superstars. It all kicks off with the Memorial in early June. Jack’s tournament never fails to impress and with the new renovations to Muirfield Village, plus a quality field, we’re guaranteed to witness another outstanding event. The Symetra Tour will visit TPC Riverbend and the PGA TOUR Champions will be at Firestone for the Senior PLAYERS in June, as well. In every conversation I have with golf course owners and managers, the golf boom is continuing in 2021. Eager golfers are filling up tee sheets and purchasing every new piece of equipment and apparatus they can find. Now that hotels and restaurants can easily accommodate travelers, golf resort destinations have also experienced an uptick in their stay & play packages. We are only a couple of months away from the biggest sporting event Northwest Ohio has ever seen, the Solheim Cup. Len Ziehm pays tribute to Toledo-native Arthur Hills, who passed at the age of 91, but leaves a legacy of great courses to be enjoyed for years to come. Father’s Day is June 20. Mike May had a chat with P.B. Dye, son of Pete and penned a Father’s Day tribute to one of the all-time great golf course designers.
