Ohio State Freshmen Making an Impact T wo new freshmen for the Ohio State men’s golf program, Maxwell Moldovan and Adam Wallin, are quickly making their presence felt in collegiate golf. Native son, Maxwell Moldovan , from Uniontown, Ohio, was a dominant junior golfer named 2019 Rolex Junior Player of the Year by the AJGA. He been a consistent winner in junior golf and was the 2017 and 2018 OHSAA Division I Ohio State Tournament Champion. He was also named an AJGA First Team All-American. Only the three other Buckeyes earned that prestigious award, Brian Mogg, Chris Smith, and Ryan Armour. In 2019, Moldovan ascended to the top of the Polo Junior Golf Rankings, making him the best junior golfer in the country, which earned him a spot on the U.S. Junior President’s Cup team. Ohio State’s second signee, Adam Wallin , from Sweden ranked inside the top-10 of the European Golf Rankings 18 and under division. He recorded six top-10 finishes across European junior golf competitions. Wallin finished second at both the 2019 Junior Masters Invitational and Swedish Teen Tour Elite #6, plus earned a third at the Swedish Teen Tour Elite #4. He carded top- 5 finishes at the European Boys Team Championship in 2018 and 2019, against a field comprised of the best junior golfers from 15 European countries.
