DDWGA Collegiate Scholarship Application Since 1996, the Dayton District Women’s Golf Association (DDWGA) has provided grants to deserving females connected to the game of golf in the Greater Dayton Area for use in advancing their academic career. The deadline for scholarship applications is January 31. • Scholarships will be awarded on a regular basis and are based on availability of scholarship funds in addition to each applicant’s qualifications. The DDWGA does not guarantee any candidate receipt of any form of scholarship assistance. • Scholarships are awarded by a scholarship committee. • The DDWGA does not discriminate because of race, religion, color, national origin, or disability. • Scholarships are awarded to residents of the Dayton District Women’s Association Territory. Candidates are selected based on their academic record, personal character, participation in golf events and extracurricular activities. The DDWGA urges all young women to fill out the application form found at: bit.ly/3uvGJuU Grant amounts are traditionally in the $500 to $2000 range. Chosen candidates will be notified by April 15th and their award will be presented at the dinner following the first DDWGA golf event in May. Bridgestone Senior PLAYERS Championship Raised $951,000 The combined proceeds from the 2022 Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS Championship and the Ambassador of Golf Event presented by FirstEnergy Foundation, raised $951,379 for Northeast Ohio charities. The 2022 donation is the largest annual charitable total generated by these events. Since 1984, professional golf tournaments held at Firestone Country Club have generated over $31 million. “This year’s record charitable total will have a positive impact on Northeast Ohio,” said Kaulig Companies Championship Executive Director Don Padgett III. “Thank you to Bridgestone, Westfield, FirstEnergy Foundation, Northern Ohio Golf Charities and all our supporters and fans for their efforts in making this donation become a reality.
