Heather Downs Country Club has been one of the best clubs in the Toledo area for almost 100 years. Whether you want to pay greens fees, become a member of an outstanding club, or are looking for the perfect venue for your next outing, Heather Downs Country Club has you covered. The course first opened in 1925 as a horse racing track and evolved into a private country club. It offers everything from wide open fairways for the bombers, to more intricate holes lined by tall trees that require a measure of caution to avoid those dreaded others on the scorecard. It is not long at just under 6,300 yards, but as a par-71, it challenges even the best golfers. In his spare time, he is the Head Coach for the St. Francis Golf Team and competes in the Northern Ohio PGA Section events. He conducts junior programs throughout the year and has also started a golf fitness program at the club. Sutton understands the connection between fitness and a sound golf swing. “To be a more consistent and injury resistant golfer, you have to first understand the connection between the golf swing and one’s physical limitations. He personally oversees every outing and works with the members to keep their game top notch. Sutton was a member of the University of Toledo’s Golf team, served as the General Manager at Eagle’s Landing, and was the Director of Golf at Spuyten Duyval before he moved to Heather Downs in 2012.
