February 2023 Ohio Golf Journal

To help girls gear up for golf season, the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation (OGGF) has added winter golf clinics in addition to its annual lineup of spring clinics. Girls ages 8 to 18 years old, from beginner to advanced, can get an early start on their golf game at these winter and spring clinics, held at various locations. The instructional clinics conducted by PGA and LPGA instructors are geared to inform, educate and expand girls’ knowledge in all aspects of golf, from full swing to short game to putting. Girls participating in these Winter Clinics, as well as Spring Clinics scheduled in April and May, will have an opportunity to continue working on their skills through individual or smaller group private lessons, as part of OGGF’s Ongoing Instruction Program. The foundation’s mission is to encourage, sponsor and support the game of golf for girls by providing college scholarships, golf training programs, and financial assistance to attend designated golf tournaments. Since the Foundation was established in 1994, more than 1,000 girls have attended our clinics and we have awarded more than 140 scholarships. Winter Clinics will be held at, 1899 Canton, The Clubhouse, in Beachwood and the Golf Dome, in Chagrin Falls, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. They will also be held at Judd’s Golf Sim in Avon, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Cost is $20 per session. Visit the Northern Ohio PGA website for exact dates and registration.
