August Ohio Golf Journal Is Loaded We are once again happy to be able to bring you the August issue of Ohio Golf Journal. Even die-hard Buckeyes have to admit that there is no place better than the ‘State Up North’ for golf in July and August. Last month we had the opportunity to visit several great courses in Michigan. In this issue we have pieces about Bucks Run and Pohlcat, both near Mt. Pleasant, plus the newly renovated Saint John’s Resort, in Northville, a suburb of Detroit. Tiger Woods was at Oakland Hills, in Detroit, last month to watch his son, Charlie compete in the U.S. Junior Amateur. Charlie didn’t make the cut to enter the match play portion, or threaten his father’s unbreakable record of three consecutive U.S. Junior Amateurs, followed by three consecutive U.S. Amateur Championship wins. We also have other golf travel news to share this month as BOYNE hosted the International Golf Tour Operators and expanded their international presence. Island Resort and Casino in the UP is embarking on a $19 million expansion which includes a new nine-hole course at the Sage Run course. The PGA Tour 202324 season is rapidly coming to a close and we feature a few storylines from the tour. August is a busy month for golfers in Ohio and I will be looking for you on the Back 9.
