The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) wrapped up the 2024 high school golf season with the state championships hels last month. The Division III Boys State Championship was held at NorthStar Golf Club, in Sunbury. Both the Division II Girls and Boys tournaments were at Firestone Country Club and Division I Girls and Boys were hosted by NCR Country Club, near Dayton. Warren JFK Comes Back to Win Second-Consecutive State Title Defending state champion Warren John F. Kennedy shot 22 strokes better on Saturday than it did on Friday to come from behind and repeat as the OHSAA Division III boys golf state championship at NorthStar Golf Club. Individual state champion Cameron Phillips, a senior from Lucasville Valley, set NorthStar Division III state tournament records with a singleround 66 on Friday and a 137 total score for the tournament (66-71-137). JFK shot a 328 on Friday and was in second place heading into the final round, but the Eagles shot a 306 on Saturday to win the state title by two strokes over runner-up Van Buren, which shot an impressive 304 Saturday to finish as state runnerup after finishing in fifth place after the first round. 2024 OHSAA Golf State Tournament Results Boys Division III JFK (328-306-634) was in the state tournament for the 17th time and takes home its fifth state title. The Eagles also won back-to-back championships in 2000 and 2001. Junior Henry Phillips and Andrew Lapolla led JFK on Saturday, shooting 73 and 74, respectively. Juniors Julian Bolino added a 79 and junior Andrew Fredenburg shots an 80. For the tournament, Phillips led the team with a 149 (tied for sixth overall) and Lapolla shot 151 (tied for ninth).
