Kettering Archbishop Alter Wins Third Consecutive State Title Led by sophomore Matthew Kreusch, defending state champion Archbishop Alter shot a twoday score of 598 to win the Division II boys golf state championship at Firestone Country Club. Kreusch and Cincinnati Wyoming senior Finley Bartlett tied for overall medalist honors with a two-day total of 140. After shooting a 74 in the first round, Kreusch shot a 68 to come from behind to tie Bartlett for the individual title. Bartlet shot a 68 in the first round and a 72 in the second round. Alter led Ottawa Hills by only one shot after the first round. 25 strokes better than runner-up Ottawa Hills, which shot a 315 in the second round, Alter shot a 290, totaling a score of 598 Columbus Academy Wins Third Consecutive Title Sophomore Eva Lim led the defending state champion Columbus Academy, who shot a two-day score of 668 to win the Division II girls state championship at Firestone Country Club. Lim shot 72-71, scoring 143 to earn the individual state champion title and secure medalist honors. Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy’s state runner up, Sophia Fink who shot 73-74-147. Academy’s senior, Caroline Zeiger, shot a 78-80-158 to tie for eighth place, and sophomore Meera Srini scoring 92-85-177 to tie for twenty-fifth. Boys Division II Girls Division II and reclaimed their title. Alter senior TJ Kreusch (74-74-148) placed third, and junior Andrew Gochenouer (77-78-155) and senior Grady Tabar (83-72-155) both tied for tenth. Archbishop Alter (308-290-598) appeared` in the tournament for its 28th time and this was their seventh state title. Rounding out the top five behind Bartlett and Kreusch were TJ Kreush (Alter) in third at 148, and Brock Montgomery (Upper Sandusky) and Gavin Gress (River View), tied for fourth at 150. Cincinnati Madeira was the state runnerup with a 352-343-695, led by Ellie Hartung scoring 81-76-157 to finish sixth overall, Anica Rane 83-84-167 to finish sixteenth overall, and Grace Kellett 88-83-171 to tie for nineteenth.
