Columbus Academy’s four state tournament appearances have all come in the last four years and the Vikings now have three consecutive state titles. Rounding out the top five behind Lim and Fink were Paige Weiss (Westfall) in third at 152, and Kristin Ma (Columbus School for Girls) and Camryn Ianniello (Garaway) to tie for fourth at 77. Senior Chris Pollak led Akron Archbishop Hoban post a two-day score of 595 to win the Division l Boys Golf State Championship at NCR Country Club. Pollak shot a consistent 71-71-142 to earn the Division l Individual medalist honors. Two shots behind, Kent Roosevelt’s Liam Curtis shot a 7173-144 to finish runner up. Hoban shot a 295 on Monday and was in second place by three strokes to Olentangy Liberty heading into the final round. The Knights shot a Boys Division l 300 on Tuesday to win the state title by 17 strokes over runner up Liberty. The Patriots shot a 292 on Monday, putting them in the lead, but shot a 320 on Tuesday resulting in second place. Hoban previously won the state title in 2020. The Knights were runner up in 2021, fourth place in 2022, and runner up again in 2023. Following Pollak, senior Ray Dress tied for ninth overall with a 77-72-149. Seniors Braden Herstich (7377-150), Brett Bagattiy (74-80-154), along with sophomore Ben Berridge (77-82-159) helped claim Hoban’s second state title.
