For the 2026 season Callaway Golf announced their new Chrome Tour family of balls consisting of the updated versions of the Chrome Tour, Chrome Tour X, and Chrome Soft.
With the spinoff of TopGolf, Callaway is more focused on its core golf equipment enterprise and continues to grow the golf ball business with the Chrome Tour family. Last year, Chrome Tour golf balls attained a 22.6% of the golf ball market, the highest rating, since entering the golf ball market in 2000. Acushnet’s Titleist brand is still the acknowledged leader with Callaway solidly in second place.
The company’s new Tour Fast Mantle, common in all three models, produces added distance by optimizing the core/layer system. It is the first time this particular mantle material has been used in a golf ball.
Eric Lopez, Senior Director of Golf Ball R&D, explained it,
“The material itself is 16% more rigid or has a higher modulus. That’s important because if you think about a golf ball as a spring, and under impact or under load, that golf ball is going to deform. And if you have a stiffer spring, or a more rigid material that’s acting as a stiffer spring, when that golf ball compresses or rebounds, it’s going to have higher velocity.”
Chrome Tour family options include the being Track and TruTrack markings and the Chrome Tour and Chrome Soft with both are available in white or yellow.
Previous versions of Chrome Golf Balls, launched in 2024, were priced at $54.99 per dozen. The new balls increased by $3.00, or roughly 5% increase.
