Cara Heisterkamp of Westlake shot a 6-under par 138 to capture the 45th Ohio Junior Girls Championship at Marion Country Club by five shots over Dublin’s Annika Namjunath.
Cara has been an avid golfer since she was three years old and will be a sophomore at Rocky River Magnificat.
The weather was an issue both days of the championship and Heisterkamp fought through the challenge.
“I had to put the umbrella up and wear a coat. It was restricting on the swing. It was a very hard two days. There were lots of mental challenges for sure.”
