Cheryl Fox carded a one-over par 73 at the Lakes Golf & Country Club to win the Ohio Golf Association’s Qualifier for the U.S. Senior Women’s Open to be held at San Diego Country Club at the end of August.
She bested Christine Lindsey, from Kentucky, by two shots and amateur Michele Thompson, from Columbus, by three shots.
All three women earned exemptions into the U.S. Senior Women’s Open.
Fox serves as director of golf at Fostoria Country Club, as well as an assistant professional at Gator Trace Golf and Country Club in Florida, during the winter months.
It appears she is ready to compete in the U.S. Senior Women’s Open at the end of August as she recently won her second consecutive Tennessee Women’s Senior Championship by 14 strokes.
