Preorders for the NEW Cobra SPEEDZONE Irons will not be available until January 3, 2020. Here is a preview of why you may want to mark that date on the calendar and get your order in as soon as possible.
Given all the various iron designs currently on the market, coming up with something truly unique is very difficult and rarely happens. In fact, when something completely new and different actually comes along such as, Cobra’s KING SPEEDZONE Irons, golfers notice immediately.
Designers of golf equipment have a very difficult job. They must use complex physics calculations, like a rocket scientist, to design a golf club that is pleasing to the eye, but provides maximum performance for every Tom, Dick and Joe Hack. E
They strive to create a highly reactive face surrounded by a frame that provides both structural integrity and stability. They must also add in a measure of forgiveness for those all too regular mishits, plus incorporate the correct launch angle, coupled with maximum spin rate. Weight distribution around the face of the club has challenged golf manufacturers for years.
Cobra SPEEDZONE attacks this problem in their 4- through 7-irons by substituting carbon fiber for steel along and below the topline. Carbon fiber is 40% lighter than steel, yet very strong. This weight savings allowed Cobra to distribute three grams of weight lower in the head, to improve ball speed and create a higher launch trajectory.
Tom Olsavsky, Vice-President of Research and Development for Cobra, expressed it this way,
“When designing irons, there is a delicate balance of delivering playability, feel and distance, and the SPEEDZONE Irons in both traditional and ONE length make-ups provide all three attributes in spades. Our innovative SPEEDZONE technology has allowed us to maximize distance without giving up any feel or forgiveness.”
SPEEDZONE irons have a wider body with an enlarged perimeter, lower the center of gravity and increased to twisting. The Lofts on the SPEEDZONE Irons are stronger than normal, because Cobra discovered the proper combination of launch and spin to maximize distance and control.
Leaving no stone unturned, Cobra engineers have also maximized the grooves on SPEEDZONE Irons to create the proper spin with each club. Grooves on the mid and long irons are milled with a V-cross section, to reduce spin. Short iron, scoring clubs, 7-wedge, switch to a U-cross design to create higher loft with maximum spin.
For serious golfers that want to know precise carries and flights, SPEEDZONE Irons are also equipped with Cobra Connect Powered by Arccos.
Cobra’s new SPEEDZONE line of irons is a continuation of the high-quality golf equipment the company has been providing for golfers for many years.
