COVID-19 Disrupts Golf in March

Here we are into the month of April. The harbinger of spring, The Masters has been postponed and it doesn’t appear we will see any professional golf for some time to come. Like most Golfaholics, the Masters is my favorite tournament of the year and to not be able to enjoy it this year is a true tragedy.

COVID-19 is the top news story on every media outlet, plus it makes the front cover of our April issue, as well. Several states have mandated golf courses be closed, but here in Ohio the state board of health recently ruled they could remain open, if they follow all guidelines for safety.

We watch the numbers increase daily and feel for those afflicted, needing medical attention and those families that have lost loved ones.

In this issue we have a heartfelt article from the University of Toledo Women’s Golf Coach, Jenny Coluccio. With the NCAA ruling that all spring sports would be cancelled, golf season came to an abrupt end. This year had been a challenge for the second-year coach, and upon returning home from their last road trip, she learned a senior member of the team had a form of Leukemia. Coronavirus, cancer and the challenges of coaching a collegiate sport have taken a toll on her.

We hope you enjoy the pictures from our time in Sedona in February. It is one of our favorite places and these pictures make me want to be back there right now.
