Golf DataTech is reporting the number of rounds of golf played in the Greater Cleveland area in November 2020 increased a staggering 336.3% versus November 2019.
This incredible one-month increase comes after recording four consecutive monthly increases greater than 20%. The pandemic of 2020 has spurred a golf explosion the likes of which has not been seen for many years.
For the entire state of Ohio, November 2020 recorded an increase of 218.5% versus last year, plus rounds played are up by 14% year-to-date. That is after courses were closed for several weeks early in the year.
Across the country, rounds played in November were up 56.6% and year-to-date totals are up 13.1%.
While the COVID-19 Pandemic has meant total financial distress and personal losses, the golf industry has reaped enormous benefits as a leisure activity, which can be enjoyed safely and provide a reason to leave the safety of one’s home.
