The Stoatin Brae Course at Gull Lake View Golf and Resort near Battle Creek, Michigan, was named the 2021 “National Golf Course of the Year” by the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA).

The honor recognizes NGCOA member courses that demonstrate exceptional performance in four essential criteria:

-Quality of the course,

-Quality of ownership and management

-Outstanding contribution to the community

-Significant contribution to the game

Stoatin Brae is the fifth Michigan golf course to receive this national recognition. The course was recognized for its community impact with local Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Special Olympics, women’s and junior golf programs including Youth on Course, as well as the Audubon Society.

Stoatin Brae is just one of six outstanding courses at Gull Lake View Golf & Resort. It was designed by Renaissance Golf and opened for play in 2017.

The highly acclaimed course sits atop a picturesque bluff overlooking the Kalamazoo River Valley and incorporates a minimalist classic links-style approach along with architectural elements from golf’s golden design era of the 1920’s and 1930’s, to create a memorable golf experience.
