In December, the Marathon LPGA Classic Presented by Owens Corning & O-I distributed $554,000 to 17 northwest Ohio children’s charities today as a result of this year’s annual LPGA tournament. Since its inception as the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic in 1984, the tournament has generated a total of $10.8 million for 180 northwest Ohio children’s charities.
“We’re grateful to all of our sponsors for their continued support of the Marathon Classic,” stated tournament director Judd Silverman. “This year’s record contribution of $554,000 gets us close to the $11 million mark in charitable donations over the past 35 years.
