Two Northeast Ohio Courses Closing

Two Medina county golf facilities, Deer Pass Golf Course and Rustic Hills Country Club, will not open for golf in 2019.

Rustic Hills made its announcement in January, closing the course, the restaurant, as well as, the banquet hall. The owners cite low membership and more competitive hall rental options in the area.

The club’s website states,

“The owners are actively seeking others with new ideas, insight and vision who are ready to see the Club and its property on to a new, positive chapter in the life of our community.”

Deer Pass made no formal announcement, but their Facebook page had this short statement,

“Sorry to inform everyone Deer Pass will not be opening this Season”

The General Manager, Donna Pettry, did reply to several comments on the page, but phone calls to the course generated a “number has been disconnected” message.

The closing was obviously a last-minute decision with no information regarding refunds for early payments of 2019 memberships.
