89-year-old Makes Two Holes-in-One
Every golfer knows that making a hole-in-one is a rare feat, but making two holes-in-one within a three-day stretch is just too much to comprehend.
89-years-young, Howard Freeman has been a longtime member of Wooster Country Club, but last week may have been the most memorable in his golfing career. 
Freeman made a hole-in-one at Wooster Country Club’s par-3 eighth on Thursday, May 16th. Two days later, Saturday May 18th, he found the bottom of the cup for yet another ace on Wooster’s third hole.
Freeman has now made four aces and all of them have come after turning 80 years old!

Medina’s Grayson in Amateur Four Ball Match Play
Andy Grayson, of Medina, qualified for the match play portion of the USGA’s Amateur Four Ball Championship at Bandon Dunes. His partner was his Hillsdale College Golf teammate, Liam Purslowe, who is from Australia.
The pair, however, was defeated 4-3 in the first round of match play by Kyle Williams and Gregory Berthelot.
Grayson finished runner up at the 2018 Cleveland Amateur.
Firestone Pros win NOPGA Event
The 2019 Northern Ohio PGA Section Pro-Assistants Championship was held at Canterbury Golf Club on Tuesday, May 27th.
The team of David Champagne/Dan Dauk from Firestone earned $1,800 by firing a 67 for a one stroke victory, over Gary Robison and Cory Kumpf from Brookside.
Five teams tied for third with three-under par 69’s.
34th Ohio Senior Open
Kinsale’s Bob Sowards won the 34th renewal of the Ohio Senior Open held on Firestone Country Club’s West Course. Sowards fired two rounds of 69-63 for an 8-under par aggregate to win by two shots over Tony Milam.
Tim Krapfel, from Dayton, was third at three-under par, North Canton’s Gary Robson was fourth at one-under and Rob Moss and Michael Kelley tied for fifth.
Canton Golf Course Saved by DiPietro Family
It was announced last month that David and Steve DiPietro signed a contract with North Canton to run the city-owned Arrowhead Golf Course, as well as, the banquet center.
The city will continue to own the property, with the DiPietro Family handling the day-to-day business.
The Dipietro family already has golf course management experience, as they own and operate, Skyland Pines Golf Course in Canton and Ohio Prestwick Country Club in Green.
The new owners will offer both lunch and dinner daily at Arrowhead.
