Ping’s new G440 irons have a player-style shape with a shallow and thinner face and offer a low center of gravity for a high launching higher ball speed for the average golfer.

With their new G440 irons Ping has raised the bar in the game-improvement category. The previous model the G430 was very well received by golfers and are a tough act to follow.

The face of the new model is slightly thinner and more shallow with a shorter blade length and less beef in the top line. They look more like a player’s iron, but still respond like a game-improvement iron.

The 4, 5 and 6-irons have an added 1/8” to the length, compared to the G430 model, which improves clubhead speed and helps to ensure the correct distance gapping between clubs.

John Solheim, Ping CEO & President said of the new irons,

“The G440 iron offers golfers everything they need to elevate their iron play. It looks amazing and delivers the distance they want with the control they need to hit shots closer to the hole. In this category, we continue to emphasize the importance of consistency and stopping power when determining the iron that best fits a golfer. We know they want distance, but distance without control doesn’t lead to lower scores. Through multiple advancements, the G440 represents the most versatile iron in our line and will fit the games of a lot of golfers.”
