Brady Barnum and Lucas Bernstein both won their age group at the Drive Chip & Putt Finals at Augusta National in April.
Brady Barnum
Brady Barnum from Dublin won the 10-11 age division at the 2021 Drive, Chip and Putt (DCP) Finals held at Augusta National. This was Brady’s second appearance at the DCP National Finals, he won the Regional Finals at Muirfield Village in 2017.
With the experience of being here before, Brady was impressive in his run up to the finals. He won the local qualifier at Heatherwoode Golf Club. Recorded the highest score of the day, 163 at the TPC Riverbend Sub-Regional and holed his chip shot to win the Oakland Hills Regional. His 50 points for chipping was the best score of 96 competitors that day.
In the DCP Finals Brady launched a drive 249 yards, chipped to within 2’ 5”, holed one putt and cozied the second putt to seven inches.
Brady also participates in PGA Junior League and has been selected for the All-Star Team. His low score for nine holes is 33, plus he has recorded a 68 for an 18-hole round.
Lucas Bernstein
Lucas Bernstein lists his official residence as Fresno, California, but won the local qualifier at Belmont Country Club in Perrysburg, the Sub-Regional at Westfield Center, Ohio and the Great Lakes Regional at Oakland Hills in Detroit.
Lucas won the Boys 7-9 age group at the DCP Finals with a drive of over 230 yards, chipped to within 11 inches and although he didn’t make either of his two putts, his total proximity distance of four feet four inches kept him at the top of the leaderboard.
Lucas normally plays golf with his father and brother. His best score for nine holes is 32 and he has qualified for the US Kids World Golf Championships three consecutive years.
