Gary Robison birdied three of the last four holes to card a final round 3-under 68 to win his sixth NOPGA Senior Professional Championship at Brookside Country Club.
Robison finished with a two-day total of even-par 142 to win by five shots over runner-up Dan Sutton, Director of Golf at Heather Downs Country Club in Toledo. Sutton, the first-round leader, posted his best finish in this event with a final-round 74 for a two-day total of 5-over 147.
Robison was the host pro at Brookside and his 68 was the only sub-par round produced over the two rounds.
Robison, 66, and Sutton, 52, advance to the Senior PGA Professional National Championship, which will be held Oct. 15-18, at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
They will be joined by third-place finisher and defending champion Steve Stone of Maumee Golf Center, and Canton’s Tony Adcock, who plays out of Seven Hills Country Club. Stone and Adcock came in at 6-over 148.
