More and more women are taking up the game of golf, but even more ladies are apprehensive about stepping into the male dominated world of golf. Sylvania Country Club has a plan to help women, who would like to learn a little about golf without the intimidation.
Throughout the entire month of May, Sylvania Country Club is reaching out to current women golfers and other ladies, who would like to take up the game, but don’t know where to start.
Sylvania Country Club’s Mark Tansey told us,
“Our club wants to help our female members enjoy the game more and reach other women to try the game in a non-threatening environment.”
During May the club is conducting a four-step approach to make the game more attractive to current players and hopefully attract new female golfers to the game.
Two sessions are planned for the month with each session to include four lessons. The basics of the game will be taught by the professional staff at Sylvania Country Club.
The last lesson will include an actual three-hole on-course playing lesson for new golfers to get the feel of etiquette, rules, teeing off, hitting from the fairway or rough, chipping and putting. After the short round, the class will retire to the clubhouse for wine and cheese, as well as, a recap of the day’s action at the 19th hole.
In addition, new players will be assigned an experienced golfer to help mentor, make the game more enjoyable, thus less stressful for a new golfer.
Tansey also told us that the club is planning a trunk show for the participants at the end of the month.
