The Memorial Tournament has been held at Muirfield Village Golf Club since Roger Maltbie won in 1976. The course and the tournament are the pride of the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus. It annually draws a stellar field of PGA Tour professionals to Columbus and has generated millions of dollars in charitable donation the Nationwide Children’s Hospital, as well as, other local charities.
This year the fun begins on Monday May 28 and runs the entire week until the final putt finds the bottom of the cup on Sunday afternoon, June 3.
The Memorial always proves to be an exciting event and provides a final tune up for many of the pros prior to the U.S. Open Championship. All four current major champions, Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and Patrick Reed, as well as, five-time Memorial Champions Tiger Woods, have committed to play in Columbus.
