Bob Sowards of Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club in Powell, Ohio, participated in his 11th career PGA Championship and first since 2018. Sowards’ 11 career PGA Championship starts are tied for second all-time among PGA Club Professionals.

Michael Auterson is the Head Professional and General Manager of Hickory Woods Golf Course in Loveland, Ohio. He won the Southern Ohio PGA Professional Championship last August.

Normal qualifying for the PGA Championship is accomplished via the PGA Professional Championship, but that was cancelled due to the pandemic. The top 20 club pros from the 2019 PGA Player of the Year list became eligible to compete last month at Harding Park.

Neither player from Ohio made the cut, but both made a lifetime of memories competing in a major championship.
