The Glass City Invitational, hosted by the University of Toledo Women’s Golf Team, will be held September 15-17 at the historic Inverness Club.
With an opportunity to play Inverness, site of the 2021 Solheim Cup, women’s collegiate golf teams from across the country will be competing in this year’s Glass City Invitational. Committed to be
in the field: Baylor, Florida, Southern Florida, Texas A&M, and Coastal Carolina. In addition, several teams from the Big Ten, Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State will be in attendance.
Last Spring, Florida, Illinois and Northwestern advanced to the 2019 NCAA Championships, plus Baylor, Furman, Michigan State, Ohio State and Texas A&M qualified for the NCAA Regionals
University of Toledo Women’s Head Coach, Jenny Coluccio is excited to host the event at a venue that has held such prominence in American Golf over the years,

The Glass City Invitational also coincides with the 2019 Solheim Cup that is being held at Gleneagles in Scotland. Sunday, September 15, will be practice day at Inverness and the final round singles
matches for the Solheim Cup will also be contested on the same day. A ‘Watch Party’ will be held at The Heights atop the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Toledo. The event is open to the public and you can find out more at: https://www.facebook.com/events/659906231184910/
Players can watch the finals of the Solheim Cup in the morning and play a practice round at Inverness in the afternoon. Sounds like a perfect day of golf.
Competition begins Monday, September 16 with 36 holes of stroke play. The final 18 holes will be contested on Tuesday to determine the Individual and Team champions.
The tournament also features the return of two of northwest Ohio’s talented golfers. Emily Bastel-Glaser, the Head Coach of the Florida Gators, grew up in Upper Sandusky and was an All-American at Michigan State, before competing on the LPGA Tour. Bowling Green’s Caroline Powers is now an Assistant Coach at MSU, where she earned All-American honors, before playing on the Symetra Tour.
This is a great event for Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan golf fans, plus it is the perfect opportunity to watch the future players that will be competing on the LPGA Tour.
