In October the Ohio High School Athletic Association held the high school state golf championships. Boys Division III competed at the NorthStar Golf Course in Albany. Both the Girls Division I & II tournaments were held on OSU’s Gray course, while the Boys Divisions I & II were held on the Scarlet Course. Girls Division II In the OHSAA Girls Division II finals, 12 teams and 71 girls competed on the Gray Course at the Ohio State University Golf Course for the state title. Ella Wong from Hawken High School, in Cleveland, carded two rounds of 76-76 to win take the individual trophy by one shot over Riley McKenzie from Crooksville. Garaway’s Sammi Miller was solo third, while Bridget Mulcahey, from Lima and Claire Recker fromVan Buren tied for fourth to round out the top five. Four members of Columbus Academy, Angela Hu (6), Grace Luo (8), Eva Baker (14) and Eliza Freytag (18) finished inside the top 20 to win the Team Title by 23 strokes over Garaway High School.
