Girls Division I Dublin Jerome placed two players, Audrey Ryu (2) and Ellie Ryu (8) inside the top eight in the Girls Division I segment of the OHSAA Girls State Championship but were only able to finish second to Centerville High School. New Albany finished third, Medina Highland was fourth and Rocky River’s Magnificat rounded out the top five. Morgan Rogers from Centerville led the Lady Elks with a tie for eighth. Her teammates, Brigid Nickell and Leann Harker both tied for 12th, while Sanjana Reddy finished tied for 22 to give them the state title by one shot over Dublin Jerome. Kylee Heidemann, from Mercy McAuley won the Individual title with scores of 72-69, on OSU’s Gray Course, to best Audrey Ryu by two shots. Boys Division II Dayton’s Alter High School fired a team total of 618 to best Columbus Academy by 16 shots to claim the OHSAA Boys Division II Team Championship. Alter was led by David Gochenouer and T.J. Kreusch who finished one-two in individual scoring. Grant Taber was sixth, while Grady Taber and Finn Grawe both tied for 23rd to round out the team scoring for Alter. Carrollton finished third, Chagrin Falls fourth and Wyoming High School was fifth. Gochenouer posted scores of 72-76 to best his teammate, Kreusch by two shots on the difficult OSU Scarlet Course. Columbus Academy Stephen Ma was solo third, Finley Bartlett from Wyoming was fourth and Jaxson Rinkes from Carrollton rounded out the top five.
