Boys Division I In the Division I Boys State Championship, Cleveland’s St. Ignatius High School won its second consecutive OHSAA title by defeating Mason High School by three shots. Held on OSU’s Scarlet Course the Wildcat’s were led by Nick Piesen, who also won the Division I Individual State Championship by shooting 74-74. Two shots back his teammate, Bradley Chill finished tied for runner-up with three other players, Nathan Vonderhaar and A.J. Wilhelm, both from Mason and Columbus DeSales’ Vaughn Harber. Boys Division III In the Boys Division III competition, held at NorthStar Golf Club, Cincinnati’s Seven Hills High School bested second place Newark Catholic by five shots to win the OHSAA State Championship. Delphos St. John’s, Fort Frye and Minister rounded out the top five spots in the team competition. Youngstown Cardinal Mooney’s Rocco Turner fired two rounds of 74-71 to take the OHSAA Individual title by four shots over Josh Winhusen, from Middletown Christian. Carlie Mullen, from Seven Hills, finished solo third. Mark Pillar, from Independence, Brogan Sullivan from Newark Catholic and Cameron Phillips, from Valley High School finished in a tie for fourth.
