The Kent State University Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams are in a class all unto themselves and together have compiled some of the most amazing records in NCAA history.

KSU Men:

Every year, Kent State is the team to beat in the Mid-America Conference (MAC). Since 1993, they have won 19 league titles and have led the conference eight of the past nine years. To say they have constructed a dynasty is an understatement.

Men’s Head Coach Herb Page has been at KSU since 1970 and is one of the most respected golf coaches in the nation. His teams have won 21 MAC titles and he has earned 22 MAC Coach of the Year awards.

Plus, Page’s teams have made the NCAA Regionals on 28 occasions and advanced to the NCAA Championship 18 times. Even golf powerhouses, Florida, Alabama and Texas are envious of those amazing stats.

This year Page added a former major champion to his coaching staff. KSU class of 2000 alum, Ben Curtis, winner of four PGA Tour titles, including the 2003 Open Championship, joined Page’s coaching staff.

You know what they say, “The Rich Only Get Richer.”

During the 2017 Fall schedule the Flashes finished inside the Top 10 in all five events they entered.

The Flashes have a full schedule this spring and always play the best competition in the country. They begin with the Ragin Cajuns Louisiana Classic. Head to Myrtle Beach for the General Hackler Championship and then on to Charleston for the Hootie at Bulls Bay, in March.

April will find the men competing in the Texas A&M Aggies Invitational, Purdue Boilermaker Invitational and the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate at OSU Scarlet Course, before teeing up in the MAC Championship.

They will be looking to add yet another MAC title to the trophy case and a trip to the NCAA Regionals.

Kent State Women:

As good as the KSU men’s golf team has been over the past 40 years, the women’s golf team at Kent State has been even more dominant. Since the MAC Women’s Golf Championship began in 1999, no other school has beaten won KSU.

Kent State Women’s Golf Team has won 19 straight MAC Championships!

The Women Flashes have been coached by Greg Robertson, since 2013 and he is only the second KSU Women’s Head Coach in their 19-year history.

The women’s team resembles a meeting of the United Nations with players from Norway, France, Thailand and Sweden, as well as, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Last September the team finished fourth at the Jim West Challenge at the Woodlands in Texas and runner-up to Illinois at the Mercedes-Benz Intercollegiate at Knoxville. They garnered a tie for the sixth spot out of 15 teams at the Betsy Rawls Invitational in Austin, Texas in October and wrapped up the fall schedule with a tie for fourth at the Cardinal in Louisville.

The women’s team began the spring schedule with a solid third-place finish in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic, finishing ahead of a few much larger schools. The next head to the Woodlands in Houston for The Dickson.

In March the Lady Flashes compete in the BYU at Entrada Classic and the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate at Pine Country Club in Kenesaw, Georgia.

They wrap up the spring with the Lady Buckeye Classic at Ohio State Golf Club and the MAC Championship in April.
