Avalon Golf & Country Club in Warren, Ohio will host the 115th Ohio Amateur Championship. Designed by legendary golf course architect and Ohio Golf Hall of Fame Member, Pete Dye, the par 72 Avalon Lakes Course can stretched to 7,551 yards and features undulating greens, beautiful terrain, and intimidating water hazards.
Avalon Lakes hosted the Youngstown-Warren LPGA Classic 1993-1996 and the Giant Eagle LPGA Classic 1997-2000, plus it will host the 2023 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship.
Avalon Golf & Country Club and the Grand Resort offer 132 Luxurious Guest Rooms and suites, several restaurants, a wine room, a cigar room, pools, recreation areas and a spa.
The Ohio Amateur Championship is open to Ohio golfers with a handicap below 5.6. Six sectional qualifiers begin on June 1st and the entry deadline is May 24th at 11:59 p.m. To view a list of qualifying locations and complete an entry form, visit: www.ohiogolf.org.

The first Ohio Amateur Championship was played in 1904 at Cleveland Country Club with T. Sterling Beckwith the victor. Robert Servis has won the most Ohio Amateur’s with five victories followed by Harold Weber with four, Joe Bole and Maurice McCarthy with three. The following players have won two Ohio Amateurs, T. Sterling Beckwith, Jack Munro, John Florio, Frank Stranahan, Harold Paddock Jr., Arnold Palmer, Tony Blom, John Cook, Randy Reifers, Robert Gerwin II, Ben Curtis, Jason Kokrak, Andrew Dorn.
