Many Golfaholics are fed up with being stuck at home and are ready to experience new adventures, but are wary of staying in a hotel, or boarding an airplane.

The second issue is a very easy fix. We are fortunate in Ohio to be blessed with a number of great golfing opportunities in every portion of the state. Plus, the Interstate Highway system that crisscross the state makes day trips to play 18 or 36 holes an easy task. Visit a new course and still make it back home for a night cap, before falling into the comfort of your own bed.

The Arthur Hills Golf Trail in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan has five of Hills’ best designs and can provide individual lodging, as well.

If you want to travel a wee bit farther, Ohio Golfers are within a short drive of great golf in Michigan. As Fall approaches and Buckeye Golfaholics seek warmer climes, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas have some of the best golf in the country, plus offer cottages, or villas for those golfers wanting to keep distance between themselves and other guests.

Three of the best resorts to visit in Michigan, BOYNE, Forest Dunes and Arcadia Bluffs offer cottages that allow your group to stay within your own bubble.

BOYNE has been one of the leaders in preparing safety protocols for every golfer and they have ten courses from which to choose. The staff has been trained to properly disinfect the equipment, but still provide excellent service to guests. The Ross Cottages at the Highlands are perfect for a family, or golf group to stay together. They even have a full kitchen if you want to do your own cooking.

The cottages Forest Dunes make an excellent option for buddies’ trips and girl’s getaways. The Weiskopf Dunes course is one of the very best in Michigan, plus Tom Doak’s Loop offers a unique golfing experience. Play the Red Course in one direction one day and  experience the Black Course going in the opposite the next day. A new Par 3 Course is opening soon and the putting course will test your skills.

In addition to the popular Bluffs Course in Arcadia, Michigan, the newer South Course offers a completely different look and feel. Plus, they have individual cottages for groups that want to maintain separation from other visitors.

One of our favorites resorts is French Lick in southern Indiana. It is a first-class resort offering two outstanding golf courses, a casino, spa and superb dining opportunities.

When the temperatures begin to drop in October and November, Hilton Head’s Sea Pines and Palmetto Dunes have six courses to meet every golfer’s delight. There are also various rooming options available at each resort from single hotel rooms to spacious condos and cottages.

It is not a difficult drive down I-75 and across I-20 to Reynolds Lake Oconee. Reynolds is one of the premier golf communities in the nation. With six courses from which to choose and accommodations ranging from full houses and smaller condos to staying in the Ritz Carlton that is on the property.

These are just a few of the many options available to Ohio Golfers. There is great golf within the state, as well as, neighboring West Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana.

If you would like more information about a particular resort, we would be happy answer any questions. Just send us a note to Fred@Back9MediaGroup.com
